I think your equation isn't apt. Facebook likes run through personalized networks and are fed to users by privately curated algorithms which prioritize engagement and serving ads to benefit: Facebook. In contrast, a pure democracy would be open questions and elections to any adult who is a citizen, without algorithms and corporate motivation interceding. This would theoretically benefit the aggregate voter: the citizens who vote. |
