Digital cameras have built-in image processing already. (You’re not seeing data directly from the sensor.) The iPhone portrait mode is a good example of this. That’s a filter by any reasonable definition of the term. Where’s the threshold between image filtering done to capture a better version of what the sensor saw and image filtering to create a better version of what the sensor saw? |
