We need more of this and less of "Learn how to speak in an American accent in 2 months!" As an Indian immigrant, immigrants speaking with a fake accent is the most depressing (and annoying) things I've seen. We have one of the largest English-speaking populations in the world. (Fake Accent != People's accents changing over time, which has happened to me, or rolling their Rs sometimes for others to understand) |

Honest question: why? The onus of work is still on someone.
Given that English is my second language, I think the onus is on me to learn the proper pronunciation and enunciation of words. I would not expect someone to learn to decipher my accent, and I'm not sure why this would preferred over the alternative to begin with.
