As a sidenote: this holds true for other types of arbitrary-interview-riddles. There's only 3-5 "frameworks" you need to memorize/apply for consulting case interviews. Finance probability problems typically test one of ~a dozen prob/stat formulae + ability to multiply 3-digit numbers in your head. After all, it has to be manageable for the interviewers to make sure all the questions are roughly equivalent in difficulty. |
