This is 100% why I use Dark Reader. Even on my phone, right now, I'm using Kiwi. It has a "night mode" (which, by the way should not be the way to call a dark mode—I, and many others, use it all day). But I still use Dark Reader, because it has a crowdsourced WHAT TO INVERT and WHAT NOT TO INVERT which is AMAZING and fixes most situations. |

Though Dark Reader can be tuned to give high-contrast light-background themes.
The extension itself has a dark-mode formatting which cannot be changed, however.
