RFCs are to the crypto literature what Wikipedia is to the history of the Balkans. This is another instance where I don't care so much about your particular choices, but where you've said something I have a hard time letting go. You can't point to chapter/verse of an RFC as evidence of the soundness of a crypto construction. Sometimes RFCs document good ideas, but other times they don't. |
