They point out that's their definitions of active accounts is a flaw in their methodology (inside the article). However, I think it's fair to say that while TWTR has better internal insight into an "active user", it's the best approximation one can do from the outside. I do wonder about, given perfect knowledge, how the bot accounts would shake up. What percentage produce content (presumably propaganda, automatic tweets using it as an RSS like announcement service, and spam) vs follow people (boost follow accounts, sell likes)? |
