I used to throw the graphics card from my Dell XPS 1710 into the oven whenever it stopped working. That worked about 10 times over the space of a few years!

I did this with a 2012 MBP at one point. It was basically a crude attempt at reflowing the solder on the board.

Got it running again, and I managed another ~year out of it, before my then-two-year old daughter poured a pint of milk into the keyboard.

That’s really interesting—had no idea that was a thing. Did you ever worry about putting food in the same oven?
