Lenore paused. She stared wistfully out the window and thought of the third graders she watched earlier in the day, "What would it take to give every one of them a nice, sharp pin?" Yeah, maybe shoo her away from the playground. |

Obviously the pin is to pop the confining bubble "every child" has been placed in, thus improving their lives. She follows up:
