I'm sorry, but I really don't have the time, besides giving a few suggestions here on HN. In any case, graphical design is not exactly my main area of expertise. Keep in mind that it's a lot more craft than art, so you can do a lot even if you consider your self graphically challenged. You might want to present your layout on forrst.com. If you don't know it already, it's a community with the focus of bringing hackers and designers together. You can usually get some good constructive feedback there.
