As an adverse opinion, I worked at a FAANG company as a software engineer for several years and not once did I ever have to implement one of those fancy data structures or algorithms that are taught at universities around the world. There are of course outliers, but the vast majority of CS jobs out there are simply shuffling data around. They even call it “shuffling protobufs” at Google. |
