This article is one of the few I've ever read on distributed systems designs that is even remotely close to what I'd call "correct". The amount of disagreements I've had with colleagues when I propose crash-only modes of operation is unbelievable. Follow the guidelines in this post and you'll indeed result in (more) robust systems. Great writeup. |
