Isn't that what conferences and journals are for? Reviewing and selecting the most important papers?

When something is really solved (a solution exists without negative side-effects; and this fact has been verified several times), they should indeed look for new problems.

In theory, not in practice. Revolutionary papers ignored by all are the rule, not the exception. I have seen hundreds. See e.g. This 410% reduction of ALL cause mortality. No side effects and in addition significant amelioration of quality of life (sleep, etc) It was twenty years ago and will keep being ignored for the rest of eternity. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12577695/ The human condition is miserable because even the scientists themselves are actually scientifically illiterate.
I’d like a 410% reduction in all cause mortality as much as the next Joe, but the Pubmed similar articles list isn’t very encouraging. Nearly all the 90 articles listed spanning 40 years are from Russia, many from the same small group of researchers. I observe: 1) there HAS been a sustained effort and publication among a substantial group of investigators, and yet 2) these dramatic results have failed to attract further attention.

I (non-scientist, applying Occam’s razor and the principle of “if it seems too good to be true, it surely is”) conclude there is probably a fundamental flaw, like, perhaps, after a few years of “improvement” people suddenly shrivel up into a husk.

Your Occam razor is a tragic self fulfilling phophethy. By people assuming scientists are not scientifically illiterate they silence those ignored potent results and dismiss them. The fact is scientists are illiterate. Russian are the world leaders in gerontology. A reason being they have a well funded longevity institute since the 90s. Contrary to the rest of the world they are not retarded and therefore do human trials since billions of human lifes are at stake. And most importantly they are public research. That is essential since the most promising class of drugs is generally non-patentable and therefore non-proditable (Peptides) Khavinson is the greatest medecine researcher alive https://www.researchgate.net/scientific-contributions/Vladim... On pubmed you are seeing Russian related papers because they cite each other. But actually many of those results have been independently reproduced by non-russian researchers, e.g thymalin is the covid cure since day 1. I knew this and all those lives and economic loss could have been saved but the world was not ready to listen the trivial truth. The trivial retarded truth is that aged people have their thymus that involute, it self atrophy. By injecting them the thymic hormone thymalin, their thymus grow back and rejuvenate. This result in a 610% increase in lymphocite T production, basically fixing age related immunosupression which is the cause of covid mortality. The world is too retarded and will remain retarded and suffering will persist. However Russians are not the only ones that make revolutionary discoveries ignored by all, see e.g https://touroscholar.touro.edu/sjlcas/vol13/iss2/7/

By becoming a meta-researcher like me, you observe how beautiful and futuristic the world could be. And you also observe that the revolution people are waiting for has been discovered in the 90s and that it will never be used.

I was applying Occam to myself as a meta-researcher (I like that term!) not to “scientists”. I will happily assume there is a wide range of literacy among scientists, and that it wouldn’t take many positive results for research on thymalin to start ringing bells. I will also admit to the assumption that Russia cannot possibly be the only place where there is a high degree of willingness to experiment aggressively with , on, or on behalf of people who are running out of time. China seems like one place. India. Indonesia. It’s very difficult to see how real progress in this field wouldn’t be publicized.

As an aside, may I suggest to you that in a forum with many Americans, use of the word “retarded” will usually get you a very strongly negative reaction and obliterate consideration of any other points you may be making.
