Been using fediverse with mastodon for months now. People are often much nicer, there are actual discussions and trolls are easy to block. Can recommend.

The nicest thing is that you can block (as a normal user) entire instances.

Which is very handy since shitty people tend to accumulate on certain instances.

Blocking because of bad behaviour is the path to sanity.
