I can assure you that this way of seeing the poor/indigenous is present in 99% of 'civilized' people who have had little or no contact with indigenous or very poor people, they just don't say it or have separate fragments of this idea , but just asking them questions is enough to bring these ideas to light.

They just simplify the complexity of poverty so they don't feel guilty about doing nothing about it.
