It is one of several patterns I have just noticed in the past couple of weeks

US made a human rights comment.

Germany media made a big deal about the oil purchase, trying to deflect attention from their own increased purchase.

And as a former colonialist I couldn't expect the UK not come up with it's own act.

Collective guilt works both ways especially among democratic countries of which India is thr largest and US the oldest.
