I’m all for respectfully seeking atonement, so long as it’s understood that the victim doesn’t owe the perpetrator anything. Parts of the article made me uncomfortable, like how after the perpetrator had been blocked, they went through friend back channels to continue to try to communicate with their victim. Maybe that kind of stalking will ultimately work out for the best for everyone, but that’s pretty presumptuous, and seems more about assuaging the perpetrator’s guilt complex than victim recovery. |
