Similar here. I'd rather set up my own home tech than pay for some connected service. My stuff isn't actually smart home stuff, but stuff like PoE security cameras with ZoneMinder, home assembled cycle timers to run sprayers or air bubblers (agriculture related), etc. I built it, so if it breaks I know how to fix it. No chance of the cloud shutting down bricking my devices. |
