I switched to using just my monitor when using my laptop at work for this reason. It worked all right in 10.10 for me, but switching to 11.04 caused some issues when having 2 screens at a different res. As I understood with my googling, it has something to with my laptop's integrated i815 graphics chip (and possibly with the chip itself). I do plan to upgrade to 11.10, but not until after my Monday deadline |
