Just for maximum pedantry: it's normal for cops and prosecutors to coordinate (it's their job). Americans frequently treat state attorneys as if they're not fundamentally "in law enforcement," which is absolutely not the case. But I do agree with you about Virginia (from personal experience as well), and there should be a firewall between the police and actual trial judges. |
