It doesn’t matter if they do or not-so far, sending an email and making me go find and open it is 10x more annoying than, and only slightly less friction than, _manually_ setting up a login in 1Password… and I’ll actually hate you (whoever made me use it) for it, since you’ll send another email next time I need to do anything.

Further, you’ll be leaking information about what I’m using to Google for their ad machine if it happens to be GMail, or any of the other even-less-reputable email services that people have.

That I have to clean it out of my inbox later-since when I click on it or, more likely, tap it on my mobile, you’ll swap back to your app or site-along with all the other shit I have to clean up-OTPs for “extra security” I didn’t ask for on a “new device” and another email alert for every single login to something and so on, is just icing on the cake.

A solution is needed so thank you for trying to come up with something; email is not it.

I get what you mean. Sometimes this whole email flow could be more annoying for some users than a simple password but I honestly hate thinking of passwords and the UX behind password managers.

But thank you for your honest feedback! Always appreciate it and I really hope we can make Webauthn (biometrics login) the norm which is a wonderful experience.

Thanks again!!
