I have looked through this feed https://www.flickr.com/photos/ministryofdefenceua/ which is mostly the Ukrainian military training between 2014 and 2018. The only tank I've visually identified in that feed is the T-80U with reactive armor blocks. The T-80 has a terrible reputation in Russia because they were shot up badly in the Chechen War. (Other tanks that weren't used in that war didn't have their reputation damaged!) I wonder if the whole point of those Warsaw Pact "big brick" apartment buildings was to make Blitzkrieg obsolete. I mean, you can be on the sixth floor and drop pianos, anvils, molotov cocktails and anything else on a tank and there is nothing they can do about it because they can't raise the gun that high. |
