Where I live in the US we had a curfew and a travel ban, and we’re only allowed out of the house to shop or go to an approved job. Business nod deemed critical were forced to shut down, with no warning or recompense to their owners. Many of them went bankrupt, were forced to lay off all of their employees, and cancel contracts with customers. Spring 2020 here was no Shanghai, but it wasn’t the nothing-burger you seem to think it was. |
