I just realized I've been using windows for 30 years... wow! The main problem here is that this is a work machine. Generally you can't do what ever you want on those. I imagine Linux is harder to lock down in a corp environment and the complaints are rooted in that notion. WSL fixes many issues, I don't think I'd be spending much time in power shell if I had the option to use WSL. |

It was a pretty big change when our (already outdated at that time) lab in college scrapped the PDP11-44 and replaced it with 20 Windows 3.0 machines and 10 Macs.
Been using Linux since I picked up a Yggdrasil CD in 1993.
Sorry to hear you can't use WSL ... it's great IMO.
