It's not assembler that'll get ya, it's the JCL.

Bad memories of JCL. An IBM mainframe at college, late 70s, and only a few guys that hung around the keypunch room knew the secret incantations. SYSIN DD *
Airline reservation systems didn’t use JCL (something from OS, MVS, etc). They used a special transactional OS called ACP/TPF instead.
