Easy. Add an asterisk and nobody will follow it. Problem fixed. That’s actually how we got legal copy longer than the content.

It doesn't even need to be an asterisk/fine print. All you need is enough companies doing it for CYA reasons that it becomes meaningless. see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_California_Proposition_65
