Yes, like this art installation by Jim Campbell back in 2006: https://bampfa.org/program/jim-campbell-home-movies Only power and ground were supplied through the two wires connecting to each pixel. The pixels were PIC micro-controllers which contained the brightness levels for that pixel, which would play on loop independently. As I remember, the whole array would loose power intermittently to deal with clock drift. |
