I'm confused by stories like this. I've installed both Windows 10 and 11 recently, and never had to create a Microsoft account for either one. It felt a bit like going to the old toilet with "beware of the leopard" on the door, but the option was there. Never had to forcibly disconnect the network, just repeatedly confirm that I really wanted the "limited experience". (Better yet, create an online account!) Is there a difference between countries or architectures or something? Are they serving a different pile of bullshit to Americans thinking they're already numb to this kind of crap? |

Been about two years since I installed it clean from an USB stick, so I don't remember if it was the same there.
