I pretty sure there would not be an "Singularity" event. AGI will come in a form of many specific domain AIs integrating togheter step by step. Eventually this AI might be able to improve itself, this might seems to be the moment when it colud get better rapidly, but the base techinology supporting it, the silicon chip, is now in the flat upper step of the S curve of improvement. Till there is another form of technology that can increment some orders of magnitude the processing power, we will not see that AGI that can rival the smartest humans. My humble bet.
