That would be amazing if it was true. How great would it be to separate off the mediocrity who think every conversation has to be about their amazing take on CO2 and their envro cult links on Wikipedia to Jevons paradox and the precautionary principle. Why would I want their take on the latest version of PHP? It'd be great to be in a chamber of accelerated ideas where they stick. Nothing echoes on HN for instance. It's an interesting experiment, if people used it. I think the unforgiveness is the problem. People should be able to make some mistakes. This might output middle ground ideas or might create a 'like'-less subculture. |

Wholeheartedly agreed - the “Internet never forgets” is a related problem, although I've also seen some apparent “forgetting” over years.
Accordingly I liberally use a timed “ignore” function on some forums I participate in. So I can block people for a while, in the hope that their posting misbehaviour is lack of experience and/or just having a bad moment in life.
