> 7B people now, another 20B in our children's lifetime. The UN projects ~11B total by 2100 [1]. Most of the growth currently is and will be because of people surviving birth and living long. Global fertility rate is already down to 2.4 (from almost 5 in the 50s) and very likely will keep going down. That's why projections even see a decline of total population after 2100 as likely.
