My friend is an electrician with a monster grip - he still had a heart attack! Sounds like a correlation that misses the point, general health prolongs life, couch-potatoes die sooner and have worse quality of life their last 30 years or so. And setting up for good health in advanced age starts decades earlier. Try comparing someone who does grip-strength training only vs someone who does heavy dead-lifts, both into their 80s. My money will be on the dead-lift guy, not just having a better quality of life until his last day, but also living longer. |
