Google just censored more “undesired” media

Just a couple of minutes ago (around 8:45pm GMT) Google removed the Youtube channel of the two Russians who called Ben Wallace and Priti Patel and posed as Prime Minister of Ukraine - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7aFhtshxOnaqioFAJ0ZSvA

Say whatever you want about the stunt itself but nothing in there was made up or falsified. They actually even redacted certain parts of the conversation they deemed confidential.

It's all fun and games until the US and the EU start adopting the very same totalitarian measures, they have been critising for decades in other countries.

The internet is supposed to be the means, not the end. If its design leads to WW III (which it could, and may have already) then its design is wrong. "My family is radioactive, eating canned beans in our fall-out shelter but hooray there's no censorship on Facebook!"

I like to think a few people who are unhappy with changes to Google's search algorithm will start visiting the library instead, but I know that's unrealistic. We complain online all the time about speech issues, but few people give enough of a shit about ideas to take a bus and read a book.
