Deepfake in Russia

Does anyone have any insight into the usage of “Deepfake” technology maybe used by Russian state media recently?

And would Putin use the technology to create fake videos of people such as J.K. Rowling for propaganda?

When I saw the deepfake of zelenskyy on the news I was really surprised to see how poor quality it was since realistic deepfakes can be done more easily with current advancements in AI. My question is that is it posible that the deepfake was not done by the Russian government? Or maybe they were too lazy to put quality into the deepfake?
