If you zap enough elements on Twitter the scroll bars come back anyway - so !important must be unnecessary for that site. https://nitter.net/about offers a better experience IMHO, because it's fast. Is this what the death of the open web feels like? |

As for cosmetic filtering, it's is the hiding of elements using `display: none !important`, so `!important` is also key to ensure page styles are overridden.[2]
