It's weird that MIT is not offering more financial aid. I thought they were the same as the Ivies, i.e. "need blind" which means they'll offer you whatever you need to "afford" the school (YMMV based on parents' income, but if they're making < $150k a year, you should be getting _way_ more than 1 semester worth of tuition). I would recommend following-up on that – get in contact with the MIT admissions office and make sure you've filled out all the FAFSA paperwork correctly. Even if you have, tell them everything you said here. If they gave you the offer want you to accept and will work with you to make sure you can afford it.

Definitely choose MIT.
