An interesting article, but I do wish we would see the 'inevitable' ending of Putin's hold on Russia happen soon. All I see are opinions on how Russia is being brought to its knees from sanctions and how it is crushing underneath the pressure-- and yet Ukraine is still being invaded with more and more force.

If Russia doesn't crack it could very well become stronger from this. Corruption ferreted out, military weakness fixed, an experienced combat force. Greater self reliance. The sanctions will stop as soon as the war stops and the public is distracted by something else.

It may sound far fetched but they'll have time and motive. Nobody's gonna go in there and try for a regime change with nukes on the table unless it's their own citizens.

Sounds like the most optimistic comment on Russian future. The reality may be different from what you have described
Yeah there's plenty of opportunity for them to go another way. This is just a catalyst for change which can be hard to come by.
No reason to stop the sanctions, maybe global alignment but most of the west could decouple from Russia. Russia is no China, that's for sure.
