I think a lot of people were misunderstanding my comment. I never meant to imply that gamma is the only important consideration in color perception, I was only reacting to the statement that it was optional. Even color spaces that don't use gamma (i.e. are linear) must have a gamma applied before you can view them. https://xkcd.com/386/ |
