Not for personal data in general, but I have a catch all on a domain set up, so when I set up some account, I use the email foobarcompany@mydomain.com. If they share my email, I know where it came from.
I do the same. One company that I was asking about parts availability told me to stop using their domain name in my email address as it was 'creepy'. I chuckled and moved on. At least there was a person in the loop.
