To be flippant, globalization worked as long as it was really cheap to ship dirt across oceans. Now, between covid, labour actions or war, long/complex supply chains stall or fracture. Yeah, local labour tends to cost more and have more legal restrictions, but they tend to be your customers and cost way less transport. |
