Some years ago, I came over a website that interactively demonstrated how a (software) 3D engine rendered rotating gears similar to glxgears in a step by step fashion. You could set the speed of the rendering process from a running animation to each and every triangle being rasterized, with depth testing and everything. I still try to look for the site, but it seems to have vanished from the internet. |
