Maybe because companies that grow often delegate hiring to the HR department, which can't really filter for technical skills (only buzzwords in the resume). So, it's no wonder HR folks end up using generic personality tests to select candidates, at least in the early stages of the hiring funnel, before the engineering team gets involved. I'm not saying personality isn't relevant for hiring, but the people conducting a hiring process can (perhaps inevitably) add bias to it, knowingly or not. |
