I used to think similarly, I had a phd, and I knew a lot of "specialized" stuff that takes a long time to understand. Turns our nobody cared. Obviously I know nothing about your position so maybe you're past this. But my advice is to make sure you frame your work in terms of how you can help with a problem someone has (including who has this problem, what they're doing now, etc), and not what special skills or knowledge you have |
