I personally have given up playing Minecraft the official way (this coming from someone who paid for the game 10 years ago and has hosted multiple private servers.)

First they destroyed the launcher, replacing with some Chrome based garbage that had more dependencies than the game itself and now this. Microsoft just eats things and their brand smells like death.
