Really? What about Telerik?

Not paying attention it seems.

(I worked at Telerik until 2014). They were acquired by Progress software later that year for $262m, so no longer independent nor a unicorn. Still one of the biggest successes.

The Payhawk founders are ex-Telerik and Telerik has made a major influence on the Bulgarian startup ecosystem.

That makes Payhawk not the first one, which was my point.
But it seems they were never valued at over 1billion (which iirc is the definition of an ‘unicorn’)
A definition that keeps changing since .com wave from the 90's.
I don't think the term unicorn existed in the 90s? It's always been $1bn as far as I recall...
Considering "unicorn" in popular culture didn't really exist till ~2013, it hasn't changed. Always been 1B
Telerik is no longer a bulgarian company. They were bought by Progress years ago.

Edit: grammar and spelling

It looks like a sucessful acquisition to me, and its founders.
But for 1/4 of what unicorn should be.
In what year?
2014
