On average, students of color come from poorer families, who are less able to support a remotely learning student. The schools they go to tend to also be less well equipped to teach remotely. I forget which school, but I saw one not too long ago that was still teaching remotely, but the school itself was open so that students had access to computers to attend lessons. As a blanket statement, yes, it is wrong. It is, however, more right than wrong when you look at the statistics. |
