I can see the use cases for VR, and I'm interested in the hardware. The circle I can't square is the idea that people love consumerism so much, they just want to transfer the experience into a Facebook marketplace for cosmetic items in some kind of VR walled garden. This is the part that I find uncomfortable and dystopian. I'd much rather have standalone games of high quality, and hardware capable enough for good desktop computing use cases as an alternative to a monitor. |
