I've seen interns perform better than "Staff Engineers" at some companies. Leveling is purely a function of leverage and nothing else. I'm ~4yoe and I find myself in meetings pretty much entirely populated by staff engineers. I've seen kids come right out of waterloo with more skills & knowledge than I think I'll ever manage to get. I've seen people get to Staff at FANG before 27 Anything is possible, just get good :) |
