I'm DS and glad you asked! I find DS work similar to writing an academic paper. Generally, I work with a PM to define a question and set a deadline for an answer. I then work backwards from the deadline ideally using Asana and draft docs to provide insight into what is happening in real time.

Also out of curiosity - what type of org/company do you work in? I'm working at a startup, so also trying to gauge differences across types of orgs (public sectors vs. private, large enterprise vs. startup etc)

Yes and large tech startup (where ML engineering and DA are separate roles).
