There's a lot of videos on police encounters where this very thing happens. Not only that, it's amazing how many times the callers embellish what happened to make their case stronger. At least in these videos, the police don't bother to do any type of investigation. I can see how easy it is to weaponize police. The government isn't some omniscient, omnipotent entity. It's made of people with all the flaws of regular people. The only difference is they have legal ass coverage in the form of qualified immunity, they investigate themselves, they know the system and how to hide their mistakes, and they protect their own. We should consider putting the beast on a diet. |
